I bought two of these for our cottage. One for our adirondack bench with a built in table and one for our picnic table. They are great value for the money! They open easily and the green apple color just makes you smile because it's so bright and cheery. They also hold up well when it's rainy (closed of course).This big 13-foot umbrella appears to be a good value since we got it a few days ago. It does take some strength to fully open the umbrella using the cord and pulleys. I ended up securing the open umbrella in place by tying the cord to the cleat on the pole. The hole for the pin is very high and difficult to reach. For an umbrella this big, the umbrella stand must be very heavy. We use the wheeled plastic stand that can be filled with water for enormous weight. The polyester fabric is a bit shiny in appearance, however it seems durable. Overall, this is a big simple umbrella that is a value at the low price of just over $100.When I received the product I was disappointed that the post was too wide to fit through the opening in my glass top patio table so, although I liked the product, I could not use it and had to send it back. It's partially my fault although the presentation showed it set up on a table smaller than mine so I went for it.I requested a refund. The company sent me a mailing label with no paid postage for shipping back to them. I found this ridiculous considering the size and weight of the package. It would have cost me close to what the product was worth to send it back. I emailed them my objections to this and they did reconsider and sent me a pre-paid shipping label for UPS. I have since received a refund.Although this process took longer than I would have expected, they honored their commitment. To me, that says a lot about their quality to provide good customer service.The umbrella is constructed well, large and decent. But it does not provide useful shade because of (1) the very long shaft and (2) no tilt function. This should be a common problem for very large market umbrellas for a table. The umbrella has to be very high to fold up without interfering the table. It is not safe to have tilt function due to its size.The umbrella may be useful when the sun is very high (say, 11am-3pm). The item is not suitable for windy location such as beach due to its size. So this umbrella is useful in limited occasions. It looks nice, but not very functional. I will buy an 11 ft market umbrella with tilt function next time.The item needs an umbrella base, a weight, and a patio table. I use 22 lb umbrella base , an 85 lb sand bag. The weight seems sufficient, while my light-weight table moves a bit when the wind blows.The umbrella does not have a handle, so you have to manually put the pin in the hole to keep it open. Since the pin hole is located high, I need a patio chair. I do not have much difficulty to put the pin in the hole, but you may have difficulty if you are shorter than 5' 5''.Bought this for my wife…she likes it, nothing else matters. ?The umbrella arrived safely and within a week. nothing was damaged and the price was reasonable. Now comes the "However" The thickness of the metal used to make the poles is incredibly thin. Do not mistake this for the thickness of the pole which is approximately 2" and does not fit in a standard umbrella base. I mean the actual metal thickness. The bottom pole can be bent over your knee if you are motivated to do so, you cannot do that with other umbrella's. But to be fair, this was under ninety dollars delivered to my door. Now the umbrella itself is ok, the top material is no worse than others selling for more money, but it is not of great quality. It seems like a two season version to me. Because it is so big it is raised and lowered by strings and pulleys, similar to other 13' umbrellas out there. it was actually easier for me to raise it by hand and slide in the pin, versus pulling it up, Regardless of the method you use, the pin hole that locks it in place is just too high for me to reach standing on the ground. I am 5'11" and needed to get on a chair, not the worse thing in the world.I did not have any issue with the umbrella not not clearing my table when it is closed, when it is open, it is pretty high up off the ground , which is understandable due to it's size, since you cannot tilt it, sun in the afternoon may be more of a problem, but that has nothing to do with this umbrella versus any other brand.I am concerned that if I do not buy a base that can accommodate the larger pole, than a good wind may flip over my table and umbrella. I just don't know if I am willing to spend more money on a new base, and I am positive that any locking screws the base comes with will crush the tubing.I did debate returning it, mainly because the thickness of the metal was so thin that I do think it will bend, but it it was a reasonable price and if i get the full season out of it, I will consider it a good deal.We LOVE this umbrellaDo not waste your money. I had this umbrella a 2 weeks over the 90 day warranty and the umbrella ribs rusted and the slightest wind broke the rib, then it tore the umbrella. Because it was 2 weeks past the 90 day warranty they offered me 10% off to purchase another umbrella. I said no thank you $90 for 90 days of use. NOT WORTH IT. I feel Amazon should have refunded the purchase. UPDATE!!! After discussion the problem with manufacture they did refund my money, which I appreciated. Great Customer Service.Very large but sturdy umbrella with the added benefit of being made of SPF30 fabric.ExcellentscamSatisfait!
